Switching off automatic playback in Windows 10 – how to do it
As in other operating systems, it is very easy to switch off automatic playback in Windows 10. You can do this either for individual media types or completely.
- Open the “Settings” in Windows 10 via [WINDOWS] + [I] and then click on “Devices”. At this point, select “Automatic playback”
- Now you can deactivate the slider for “Use automatic playback for all media and devices”. In this way, you switch off automatic playback completely.
- You can also leave the slider at this point and select the desired actions for each media type.
- One of the options available is what should happen when a memory card is inserted. You can then select “Perform no action” from the drop-down menu if you do not want any automatic action in this case.
- This process can also be configured for a removable disk and its contents. You can also specify here whether DVDs and Blu-Rays should be played automatically.
- On the page further down you will also find the settings for automatic playback on external devices such as your smartphone. Here you can also choose whether, for example, photos and videos should be synchronized
