Shut down Windows 11: These are the options

There are several ways to shut down Windows 11. The corresponding option in the Start menu is well known. However, there are many other methods, some of which are even faster.

Shut down Windows 11 via the Start menu

The most well-known way to shut down Windows is via the Start menu.

• Open the Start menu by clicking on the Windows icon in the taskbar.
• Click on the power pictogram at the bottom right of the Start menu.
• Select “Shut down” here. If updates for your system are pending, the menu item is sometimes also called “Update and shut down”.

Close and shut down programmes using the key combination

The way via the start menu is too boring for you? Then use a key combination.

• Press [Alt] and [F4] simultaneously on your keyboard.
• Each time you press the combination, the window on which the focus is currently located will be closed.
• When all windows are closed, a dialogue opens with the options for shutting down and restarting. All you have to do now is press [Enter].
