Few people still have a CD player at home, but before you dispose of your old music, you can easily digitize it. With Windows Media Player, you can convert audio CDs to MP3 format.

  • Insert the CD into your PC, open Windows Media Player and navigate to the CD on the right-hand side. All the songs on the CD will now be displayed. By default, all files are checked, but you can also uncheck the boxes if you only want to convert individual songs.

  • Now click on “Copy Settings” in the menu bar and select MP3 under “Format”.

  • To change the folder in which the MP3 songs are stored, click again on “Additional options” under “Copy settings” and then on “Change”. In this window, you can also select the quality of the songs.

  • Once you have set everything up the way you want, simply start the process by clicking on “Copy CD”. After the copying process, you will find all songs in MP3 format in the Windows Media Player library and in the folder you selected earlier.
