Under Windows 10, you no longer need to use an extra programme to burn DVDs.
- First insert the blank CD or DVD into the drive and close it again.
- Then switch to Windows Explorer. This can be done with the key combination [Win] + [E].
- Double-click on the drive.
If you receive an error message, right-click on the drive and select Open AutoPlay…. from the menu. In the new window, click Burn Files to Disk. - A dialogue window opens. There you can give the DVD or CD a name and select a variant for the burning process. If in doubt, take the first option.
- Like a USB memory stick: Save, edit and delete files on the data medium at any time. The data carrier can be used on computers and Windows XP or newer operating systems (live file system).
- With a CD/DVD player: Files to be burned in groups and individual files cannot be edited or removed after burning. The disc can also be used on most computers (Mastered).
- In Explorer you can now see that there are no files on the CD or DVD yet. To add files, simply drag them into the window.
- These files will then be burned directly onto the disc. This may take a while depending on the size of the files and the properties of the drive.
- Be sure to wait until the process is complete. If you cancel the process prematurely, the burned disc may not be readable afterwards.
