If you want to add or remove programs from Autostart under Windows 11, the operating system offers several ways – via the settings or via the Task Manager.
Autostart Windows 11: Add or remove programmes via Settings
In the settings of Windows 11, the programmes in Autostart can be edited quite easily.
- To turn programmes on or off at system start-up, open the settings in Windows 11. To open the settings, you can use Windows Search or the key combination [Windows key] + [I].
- Select “Apps” in the left side menu.
- In the list on the right side click on “Autostart”.
- Use the sliders to add or remove individual programmes from the Autostart.
Edit Autostart via Task Manager
Alternatively to the settings, the Task Manager is offered under Windows 11 to edit the programmes for the system start.
- Open the Task Manager under Windows 11.
- Select “Autostart apps” in the left column. You will see the entry “Activated” or “Deactivated” behind the individual applications.
- If you want to add a deactivated app to the Autostart, right-click on “Deactivated” and select “Activate” from the context menu.
- Reversely, remove a programme from the Autostart by right-clicking on “Activated” behind the respective app and selecting “Deactivate” from the context menu.
