You can watch the Fast and Furious movies by their release date, but for a better understanding you should stick to the chronological order
This is the chronological order of Fast and Furious
Fast and Furious is one of the best-known and most extensive film series. There are now numerous parts. If you look at the films by release date, it can sometimes be a little confusing, as the story keeps jumping back and forth. It’s easier if you watch the films chronologically.
- The first film “The Fast and the Furious” was released in 2001. The plot centers on undercover investigator Brian, played by Paul Walker. His job is to put an end to a street gang. The leader of the gang is Dom, played by Vin Diesel.
- The movie was very well received by the audience and therefore the short film “Turbo-Charged Prelude” was released a short time later. This is about Brian’s escape to Miami
- The second part “2 Fast 2 Furious” conquered the cinemas in 2003. Investigator Brian is suspended. Together with Roman, the policeman wants to put a stop to a drug dealer in this movie
- As an encore for the fans, the short film “Los Bandaleros” was released in 2009, which was written and produced by lead actor Vin Diesel himself.
- In the next part “Fast & Furious – New Model. Original Parts” is once again all about Dom and his family relationships. His girlfriend is killed and Dom sets off in search of the murderer. In the process, he meets Brian again. After some initial arguments, the two set out together to find the murderer.
- “Fast Five” was released in 2011. In this movie, Dom, Brian and his sister are on the run. They are given the task of stealing some cars. But the robbery ends differently than expected. The police put their best investigators on the three of them
- In “Fast & Furious 6”, Dom learns that his former girlfriend didn’t die. She is said to be working for an ex-soldier and is involved in the theft of a special computer chip.
- Although “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” was released in 2006, this is the first film in chronological order. New main characters are introduced to the audience in this part, such as Sean, who gets to know the street racing scene in Japan
- The 2015 installment “Fast & Furious 7” is one of the most successful in the film series. One reason for this is that the actor Paul Walker, who played Brian, died in a car accident in real life.
- In “Fast & Furious 8”, actress Charlize Theron can be seen. She plays a cyber terrorist who kidnaps Dom’s son.
- “Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw” from 2019 is the first spin-off in the series. The plot revolves around a deadly virus that could wipe out humanity
- At the center of “Fast & Furious 9” is Dominic Toretto. He is actually living a quiet life with his family until a family member who was thought to have disappeared suddenly turns up. Dom has to deal with his past again
- In “Fast & Furious 10″/”Fast X”, which was released in 2023, everything revolves around an action Dom took several years ago. Someone wants revenge on him and his family.
