You can easily edit the channel list of a Samsung TV. Samsung offers an easy way to edit the list so that you no longer have to search for your favourite channels, but have all the channels at a glance.
This is how you edit the channel list on your Samsung TV
Edit the channel list similarly on all Samsung TVs from 2014.
- Go to the menu. You can usually find this by three dashes on the remote control or the name “CH”.
- Select “Channel reception” and “Edit channel”.
- Now you can click on your favourite stations and select “Change number”.
- You can then move the station to the preferred position.
- You must repeat this for all the transmitters.
Creating the channel lists with the channel manager of the Samsung SmartTV
For creating or editing the individual channel lists, you can also use the channel manager of the Samsung TV on older models.
- Press the Menu button on the remote control. Use the cursor keys to navigate to the “Channel” entry and go to the submenu with the right cursor key. Now select “Channel Manager”.
- There you can see the channel list from which the currently displayed channel originates. To add a channel from the total channel list to a Favourites list, move the cursor to the upper icon with the satellite dish using the navigation keys and search for the desired channel.
- When the cursor is on the correct channel, open the pop-up menu by pressing the “Tools” key. There you select “Edit own channels”. The menu that appears is the same as in step two of the first section.
- You can analogously assign the channel to several lists or alternatively delete it from a list again by removing the tick.
Sort stations in programme lists
You also sort the channels in the channel lists using the Channel Manager of the Samsung TV. If you have created your own channel lists, the channels are sorted by sequential number. However, digital and analogue channels are treated separately. So the digital channels always come before the analogue ones without you being able to change it.
- Navigate in the menu to the “Channel Manager” as in the first point of the second section.
- In the Channel Manager, move the cursor to the channel in the corresponding list that you want to move.
- Press the “Tools” key on your remote control to open the pop-up menu. Now click on “Edit channel number”.
- In the list you can change the position of the selected channel via the cursor keys. Unfortunately, you do not see your individual list, but the complete list of channels. The order of the entire channel list is transferred to the personalised lists.
Rename channel names
In a few cases, you may need to rename the channel name if it is not specified correctly by the cable provider.
-
- Navigate to “Channel Manager” in the menu as in the first item of the second section.
-
- Then move the cursor to the channel whose name you want to change. Then press “Tools” and select “Edit Channel Name”.
-
- Now you can enter a new name with up to five characters using the cursor keys. Press the “Return” key to save the change.
