VLC Player: Convert file to MP3 – here’s how

With the VLC Media Player you can not only play audio and music files, but also convert them into MP3 files. We will tell you how to do this in this practical tip.

Convert MP3 file in VLC player

To convert a video file to an audio file in MP3 format, proceed as follows:

• Open the VLC media player and click on “Media” in the top right corner and on “Convert/Save”.

• Click on the “Add” button on the right side at the “File selection” item and select the file you want to convert.

• Follow this by clicking on the “Convert/Save” button.

• Select the format “Audio – MP3” under “Profile” in the new window.

• Now you only have to specify the desired storage location and name under “Destination file”. This can be done via the “Browse” button. Navigate to the desired folder and enter the desired name for the converted MP3 file.
  Use the “Start” button to confirm the selection and wait until the conversion is complete.
