When you start iTunes, your computer usually checks for updates automatically. But you can also update iTunes manually.
How to update your iTunes version: Update in detail
iTunes for Windows offers manual updates that you can install directly from the software.
- Open iTunes. Then select the Help button in the program’s menu bar.
- There you will find the option Check for Updates. Click on it to check iTunes for available updates.
- If a new iTunes version is found, follow the installation instructions. That’s all that’s needed for the update.
- Tip: You can activate the automatic update of iTunes using the option Automatically check for new software updates. This can be found in the advanced settings of the program.
iTunes update: Update Microsoft Store version
If you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store, update the program as follows:
- First, open the Microsoft Store on your PC. Then navigate to the media library in the sidebar.
- Then click on the Updates & Downloads option. In the next window, check whether an update for iTunes is available.
- You can then start the iTunes update. It will be automatically executed by the Microsoft Store.
