Teamspeak does not recognize microphone: These are possible reasons
There are various causes for a problem with the microphone in Teamspeak. Below we present possible solutions:
- First of all, make sure that you have connected the microphone correctly and that all cables and plugs are intact. If you have the option, you can also try a different connection
- First open the Teamspeak settings by clicking on “Settings” ☻ “Options”. Select “Recording” on the left and make sure that the name of your microphone is listed under “Recording device”
- You can also select the “Standard” option here. This selects the default device that has been set by the system. Make sure that this is the correct device
- Next, open the “System settings” on your computer and go to “Privacy -☻ Microphone”. Check whether sharing for TeamSpeak is activated
- Are all drivers up to date and are you using the latest Teamspeak version? If your sound card requires a driver update, you can do this via “Control Panel” ☻ “Device Manager”. Find the card in the list, right-click and click on “Update drivers”
- Your headset or microphone may also require its own driver. Go to the manufacturer’s website for more information on this.
- You can test whether the microphone works in other applications, such as Skype or Audacity.
- If none of these points have helped, there may be a defect in your microphone. If it is still under warranty, you could send it in for repair. Otherwise, you will probably have to replace it
