You can change your Steam email address at any time. This is linked to your account. You cannot log in without the email address.
Change your Steam email address
Steam is a software that allows you to buy games, interact with other members, and even follow live broadcasts of games.
- Your Steam account is linked to an email address. Changing this is easy.
- First, open Steam on your computer and log in with your account.
- Click on “Steam” in the upper left corner of your client and then on “Settings”.
- In the new window, stay on the “Account” tab. Click on the “Change Contact Email Address…” button.
- Now you can choose whether you would like an email sent to the current address with an account verification code or indicate that you no longer have access to this address.
Change e-mail address without access to old e-mail
If you no longer have access to your old address, this is not a major obstacle. You still have the option of entering your new e-mail address.
- Simply enter your account password instead to continue.
- Now enter your password and the new e-mail address in the fields and click “Next”.
- You will now receive an e-mail with a link to the newly entered address. This is used to verify your new e-mail address.
- If you see the “Success!” page in Steam, everything should have worked and you can finish the change with “Done”.
- If you encounter any unforeseen problems, you can always get help from Steam support or the Steam community.
