Microsoft Teams: Quoting messages – mobile and PC

by Pramith

In Microsoft Teams, you can also quote messages to refer to them. This has been possible for some time on WhatsApp and on Signal. You can find out how to quote in Microsoft Teams in the app and in the desktop version in this article.

Cite in the Microsoft Teams app

In the app for Android and iOS, quoting messages in Microsoft Teams is not difficult. It works similarly to other, well-known messenger services.

  • First select the message you want to quote and press and hold it. This opens the context menu.
  • Click on “Reply” in this.
  • Finally enter your reply and send the message.

Quote in the desktop version of Microsoft Teams

In the desktop version, quoting messages is also possible and works analogously to the app.

  • Go to the message you want to quote and select the three dots.
  • Now click on ‘Reply’.
  • Now enter your reply and send the message.
