Create business cards in LibreOffice

In LibreOffice, you can create private or business business cards with just a few clicks and save yourself an expensive print job at a company. First open a new LibreOffice document.

  • Click on “File” ☻ “New” ☻ “Business cards” in the menu bar.
  • In the “Medium” tab, you can select a preset format for your business cards. Or switch to the “Format” tab and configure the dimensions yourself.
  • Under “Business cards” you can take care of the layout.
  • On the “Private” and/or “Business” pages, enter all the data you want to appear on the cards.
  • You define the number and position of the copies to be printed with your entries on the “Options” tab. You also make the printer settings here
  • You can also make changes to existing files under “Options”. To do this, insert the current data into one of the displayed business cards and click on the “Synchronize labels/business cards” button. All text fields in the file will now be synchronized
  • A LibreOffice file can also be easily exported as a PDF.

Use this paper for printing

You can also make your own business cards look classy. Just make sure you use high-quality paper.

  • The standard copy paper that you usually put in your printer is not suitable for this. To make your contact cards look valuable, you need to use printing cardboard. It has a higher density
  • While good copy paper usually weighs 80 grams, the cardboard used should weigh at least 160 grams. This information can be found on the outer packaging of the respective product.
  • However, check in advance whether your printer can process this density at all to prevent damage to the device. You will find the relevant information in the operating instructions for your device.
