by Johannes

In Avira’s virus scanner, you can create a scan job that automatically scans your computer for viruses at regular intervals. In this practical tip we will explain how to do this.

How to create a new scan request in Avira Free Security

  • Open the main window of Avira Free Security. To do this, double-click the Avira icon in the notification area of the taskbar or select the corresponding “Avira” shortcut in the Start menu
  • Open the main window of Avira Free Security.
  • Now open the item “Security” in the left menu bar. Select “Virus scans” and then click on the open button under the “Manage scans” entry.
  • You will now see an overview of the already existing scheduled search requests or scans. You can edit these or create a new one by clicking on “Create Scan”.
  • Enter a name for the scan request. Also specify the folder to be included in the scan. In the third field, specify the frequency of the scan. This can be “Daily” “Weekly” or “Monthly”. If you only want to start the job manually, select “None”.
  • Finally, click on the “Create” button to save and activate the new search request. You can also manually execute a scheduled scan at any time via the overview.
  • Tip: At Avira there are always the premium packages at a special offer price. Here you can see the current offers.
