Word: Print a document mirror-inverted – this is how it works
Word makes it easy to print a document mirror-inverted. How to do this is explained in our instructions.
How to print the Word document mirror-inverted
Mirror printing can be useful if you want to print on a foil that will later be pasted on a mug, for example. In Word, this can be done directly via the printer settings. However, your printer must support this option.
- Go to “Print” in the “File” menu or alternatively press [CTRL] + [P].
- If you have not already done so, select your printer above and click on “Printer Properties”.
- A printer menu will open. Depending on which printer you have, the window that opens will be slightly different. For printers from HP, you will find the option for mirror printing in the “Finishing” tab. Tick the “Mirrored” option here.
- Confirm the settings with “OK” and click on “Print”.
- Word will now print your document mirror-inverted.
Print document mirror-inverted via WordArt
If your printer does not support mirror printing, you can mirror your document via WordArt directly in the programme and then print it normally.
- To do this, select the passage to be mirrored, click on “WordArt” in the “Insert” tab and select the first option.
- You will then find the new tab “Shape Formatting” in the menu bar. Here click on “Shape Effects” and “3D Rotation”. Then select “3D Rotation Options”.
- Enter 180° for the X-rotation to mirror the font.
- You can now print the mirrored document.
