PowerPoint: Play video automatically – this is how

by Johannes

Inserted videos in PowerPoint start by default only after a click on the play button. To be able to play the video automatically, you need to make further settings. We will give you instructions on how to do this.

Auto-play videos in PowerPoint – here’s how

  • First you need to insert the video into PowerPoint.
Then click on the video window in the slide. The menu bar will then display “Video format” and “Playback”.
    • Select the “Playback” tab. Among other things, you will find the “Start” options there, which you can select using the drop-down field.
  • Click on the drop-down field and select “Automatic”.
  • The video will now play automatically as soon as you reach the corresponding slide in the presentation.
  • If there are multiple videos in the presentation, repeat these steps for each video individually, as the setting will not be applied to all videos.
