Deleted items can be easily restored in Outlook. All you need to do is click a few times.
Recover Deleted Items in Outlook
Deleted items can be quickly restored in Outlook. This is because the program has its own folder for deleted content.
- First, open the “Deleted Items” folder. In older programs, the folder may also be named “Junk E-mail”. If the folders are hidden, select the “Show Navigation Pane” icon first and then click on the folder.
- Now select the “Move” tab in the Start tab of the ribbon. You will now see a list of folders where you can move the deleted item. Select a folder from this list. Alternatively, you can also select “Move to another folder” and then choose a location to save the item from the folder list.
- Alternatively, folders can be restored with a single click. Right-click on the message and click on “Restore”. However, this option is only available if an Exchange account is used. This feature depends on the server settings and may not be available to all users.
- You can also move messages to a folder with a single click. To do this, right-click on the e-mail, hold the element with the mouse and drag it to a folder.
Use another method
If you don’t see the deleted item in the Deleted Items folder, don’t panic. It’s usually easy to find and restore the contents quickly.
- First select the “Deleted Items” folder and then go to “Restore items from this folder”. This will also restore content that is not immediately displayed to you.
- Now move your mouse over an item that you may have accidentally deleted and check the box next to the item. Now select “Start” from the menu and then go to the “Restore” option. Confirm your selection by clicking the mouse. This will restore the items.
