To end processes in Mac OS X, you can use the integrated activity display. It is opened via the Launchpad

Use the Activity Monitor to end individual processes under Mac OS X.
- Open your Launchpad on your Mac and click on the Other folder. There you will find the Activity Monitor. Select this
- Here you will find the individual processes that your system is currently running. To end a process, double-click on it and select the End button.
- The process is now stopped directly. Alternatively, you can stop running applications via the integrated task manager.
- Press the [command] + [option] + [esc] keys on your keyboard simultaneously to open a list of all running applications. Now select the desired program and click on Exit immediately
