Pulling out a tooth yourself is generally not a good idea. Your children’s milk teeth should also be extracted by a dentist
Pulling out a tooth yourself – better not
Pulling out a tooth yourself involves some risks.
- If you pull a tooth yourself, it is certainly much more painful than a visit to the dentist. Your dentist can anaesthetize the area before the extraction
- It is not only because of the pain that you should not try to remove a loose tooth yourself. Teeth are often not healthy if they are loose.
- A wobbly tooth is usually affected by caries. It may then break off during the self-experiment. A visit to the dentist is unavoidable with a broken tooth
- It is even worse and more painful if you injure the jawbone when pulling out a tooth.
- Finally, you will hardly be able to be as hygienic as your dentist. The risk of infection is therefore high.
Milk teeth should also be taboo
If your child gradually loses its milk teeth, you should not help yourself here either.
- Normally, milk teeth fall out painlessly on their own. However, stubborn ones sometimes have to be extracted. It is certainly more pleasant for your child if such a milk tooth is extracted under local anesthesia
- Milk teeth can break just like permanent teeth. So-called chalk teeth are particularly sensitive. This dental disease can also occur in milk teeth.
- Even small patients are at risk of infection if a tooth is not extracted properly.
