LaTeX, pronounced “lay-tech”, is a program with which you can create documents such as CVs.
- Use the document class “scrartcl” in word processing, which you can find in the KOMA script package.
- In addition, you will find numerous templates in the program, such as “modernCV” or “europeCV”.
- If you use a template from the program, the parameters “firstname”, “familyname”, “title”, “address”, “mobile”, “phone”, “fax”, “email” and “photo” must be included in the personal details.
- Create different sections with the “\section{}” command to structure the CV perfectly.
- You can also add general information to your CV. To do this, use “\cvline{}”.

In contrast to typical word processing programs such as Microsoft Word, LaTeX uses a pure text markup language that is similar to HTML and CSS.
- This text markup language is then compiled into a PDF document. This gives you professional-looking documents that are different from those of a word processing program.
