If you have no use for WhatsApp, it makes sense to uninstall it. This works differently for Android and iPhone, but is done quickly.
Uninstall WhatsApp on iPhone
If you want to uninstall WhatsApp on your iPhone, you just need to follow a few steps.
- On your iPhone, open the homescreen and press and hold the WhatsApp icon until all the icons wiggle.
- Finally, tap the small x icon that appears on the left above the WhatsApp icon.
- To delete the app, confirm the deletion via the “Delete” field.
Uninstall WhatsApp on Android
You can also delete WhatsApp on an Android smartphone very easily and in just a few steps
- To do this, open your settings and look for your apps or the “Manage apps” field.
- You can do this more quickly by holding down the WhatsApp icon on the start screen and pressing the “App Info” button. There you can also uninstall the app directly.
Clear cache on Android and iPhone
To make the WhatsApp data disappear from your device for good, clear it as well.
- On your Android device, tap “Settings” and tap “Manage Apps”. In the “Installed apps” list, scroll down to “WhatsApp” and open the entry. Tap on “Clear data” and “Clear cache” here to remove all WhatsApp information from your device. Alternatively, you can also select “Clear all data” there.
- If you also want to delete all WhatsApp data from your iCloud, tap on the settings and go to “iCloud”. There, click on “Manage storage” and select WhatsApp Messenger. There you have the option to select “Delete data” and then confirm this request again.
