Reset iPad without Apple ID: Use recovery mode
Similar to a forgotten code, you can reset your iPad without Apple ID by connecting the device to a Mac or PC.
- Be sure you have iTunes installed on your computer before resetting. Macbooks and iMacs come with the software pre-installed. A backup of your data is recommended if you want to continue using the iPad afterwards.
- Turn off the iPad. Then press the Home button until the prompt Please connect to iTunes appears on the tablet’s display.
- Now connect the iPad to the computer using a suitable cable. Open iTunes to launch the iPad’s recovery mode.
- You start the recovery mode from the Restore iPad option. Follow the on-screen instructions to successfully reset the tablet.
- After that, turn off the device by pressing the top (standby) and home button at the same time. Now the device is reset and you can set up the iPad again.
