Not all video formats are supported on the iPad. Instead, the Apple tablet can only play a small selection of video formats. In this article we tell you what these are and how you can still play all video files.

iPad: These video formats are supported by the Apple tablet

  • Out of the box, the iPad only recognises three video codecs: H.264 video, MPEG-4 video and Motion JPEG (MJPEG).
