If your iPad gets hot very quickly, this can have several causes. We’ll show you how to solve the problem
iPad gets hot quickly – this can help
First and foremost, pay attention to where you use your iPad. If it is completely exposed to the sun’s rays, the device will naturally heat up from the inside out.
- If your iPad has just become very hot again, do not use the device for a few minutes and put it in standby mode for a while. Alternatively, you can switch it off completely.
- The iPad warms up faster in a case. Take the iPad out of the case for a few minutes, or switch to a thinner case.
- If your iPad gets hot frequently, avoid using already warm as well as heat-conductive surfaces as iPad rests.
- Quit all apps that you are not currently using. Many apps also run in the background. The GPS function in particular makes the iPad warm. This is how you turn off the function.
iPad gets hot – charging tips
Most importantly, make sure you have a good charger. Cheap chargers can not only heat up the device in the long run, but also damage it.
- If your iPad also gets hot when you charge it from the wall socket, you should only use it in battery mode if possible.
- When charging, avoid heat-conducting surfaces, cases and energy-hungry apps – such as games.
- Keep the iPad out of the sun, especially in summer. Dark surfaces in particular heat up quickly, and so does your iPad.
