Connect 2 pairs of AirPods with iPad: Instructions

You can connect your iPad to two pairs of AirPods using the Share function. The following instructions will guide you through the necessary steps:

  • Start by connecting a pair of AirPods to the iPad. Then you need to open the AirPlay menu
  • This is possible either via the Control Center or within an app such as Apple Music. All you have to do is tap on the AirPlay icon.
  • In the AirPlay menu, navigate to the “Share audio…” function. You must then hold the AirPods to the iPad to start the connection
  • Depending on the model, you must hold the AirPods in their case against the iPad with the lid open. This is the case with AirPods and AirPods Pro. AirPods Max, on the other hand, are simply held against the tablet like this
  • You should now see the second pair of AirPods on the iPad within the AirPlay menu. Then click on “Share Audio” to complete the connection.
  • Tip: You can then adjust the volume of both AirPods individually. This is possible directly via the control center or the controls of the corresponding app.
