Apple: Check warranty status

by Pramith

To check the warranty status of Apple devices, you need to have the serial number to hand. Apple generally provides a limited one-year warranty.

Check the warranty status with Apple

If your Apple device is malfunctioning, check the warranty status to see if you are entitled to a free repair. A free replacement device may also be provided under certain circumstances. Visit the Apple support page and proceed as follows:

  • Enter the serial number of your Apple device in the text field provided. For iOS devices such as the iPhone or iPad, you will find this under “Settings” ☻ “General” ☻ “About”. The serial number is displayed.
  • For Mac or MacBook, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner and select “About this Mac” ☻ “More information…”. Finally, click on “Continue”. The serial number will be displayed.
  • Once you have entered the number displayed, you will be shown a great deal of information about the warranty and the associated claims. You can also see the AppleCare Protection Plan coverage here if you have purchased this option.

What is covered by my warranty?

If you want to find out what your coverage includes and, especially, when the warranty expires, proceed as follows:

  • Type mysupport.apple.com into the search bar of your search engine. Sign in with your Apple ID here.
  • Select your device on the next page.
  • View the support options for which you qualify. Additional information about hardware repair and technical support is available.
