WordPress: Setting maintenance mode – this is how

by Flo

In order to be able to make changes to the CMS in WordPress, you should set the maintenance mode. We will show you how to do this in this practical tip.

Setting the maintenance mode on WordPress – this is how it works

Log in to the WordPress backend.

  • Navigate to the entry Plugins ☻ Install. Enter the word “maintenance” in the search.
  • Select a suitable plugin. Install the plug-in and then activate it.
  •  Once you have successfully activated the plugin, you will find it in the navigation on the left-hand side.
  • You can then set the status there, specify a background image as well as other information.
  • Once you have made all the settings, the changes are applied and maintenance mode is activated.
