WhatsApp: How to take a screenshot of the status.

by Pramith

On WhatsApp, it’s possible to take a screenshot of someone’s status without them noticing or getting a notification

Simply explained: WhatsApp status screenshot

There are apps like Snapchat where the other person sees it directly when you take a screenshot of a post. That’s not the case with WhatsApp: If you want to screenshot a contact’s status, they don’t get a notification. Your chat partner only sees that you have viewed the status, if you do not view it anonymously. And this is how you proceed for the WhatsApp screenshot:

  • To save an image, text or link in a WhatsApp status to your gallery via screenshot, all you have to do is press the usual key combination on your smartphone.
  • On Android, simply press and hold the on/off button on the right and the silent button on the left of your smartphone at the same time for a short time.
  • If you have enabled the feature, you can also simply swipe the screen with the edge of your hand to have a screenshot saved.
  • On an iPhone, press the volume up button and the side button at the same time. Release, and a thumbnail of the screenshot you just took appears on the display.
