On WhatsApp, you can see who has blocked you. We will explain exactly how to do this on the messenger service here.
Blocked on WhatsApp: How to see if you have been blocked
If you suspect that one of your contacts may have blocked you on the WhatsApp messenger service, there are a few clues that may indicate this. To check these signs, you must first select the person in question in the app and look out for the following indications:
- Online status: If the contact has blocked you, you can no longer see when they were last online.
- No profile picture: The profile picture will no longer be displayed either. Instead, you will see the standard white picture, i.e. a generic avatar.
- Contact status not visible: Tap the contact’s name at the top. If you can no longer see the status, you have probably been blocked.
- Message is no longer delivered: If you send a message to the person, it is only sent with a check mark, but the message does not reach the contact.
- To find out if you have been blocked, you need to check whether the contact in question is still providing you with their information.
- However, if your contact is a rather reclusive person who doesn’t share much information about themselves, such as pictures, online status or message read status, you’ll have to check whether your chats are being delivered.
- Note: In another tip, we explain how you can block unwanted contacts in WhatsApp yourself.
