The short video app TikTok is known for its trends and challenges. If you join these trends, your video will quickly go viral. We give you an overview of how you can best find these trends.
Discover TikTok trends via the For You page
As soon as you open the app, you will land on the For You page of the app. This page shows you videos that have been selected for you by the algorithm. Here you will often find videos that have already gone viral, i.e. have received particularly many views and likes.
- If you spend some time on the For You page, you will often see similar videos in which the same actions are repeated again and again and usually the same sound is used. The sound is the music or audio that is played along with the video. This is then a random trend or challenge.
- Once you have found a sound that is used again and again for viral videos, you can click on the sound in the bottom right-hand corner. Here you can find all the videos about it and take a closer look at the trend.
- Save the sound to your favourites and use it later for your own video or record a video directly to it.
New Tool: Creative Center
Lately, TikTok has introduced the Creative Center. Previously, you could find popular sounds, hashtags and creators directly in the app via the Discover page. This is now possible via the Creative Centre.
- Hashtags: here you can find the most popular hashtags of the last 30 – 120 days and their performance. Find relevant hashtags for your videos and use them in your video description. Achieve greater reach this way.
- Songs: Here you will find songs in the categories Popular and Breakout. Under Popular you will see a list of the most popular songs from your region in the last 30 to 120 days. Under Breakout, you’ll find a list of songs that have had a particularly strong growth.
- Creators: The most popular creators are listed here. You get an overview of the number of their likes, followers and interactions. Take a look at the content of these creators and get inspired.
- TikTok Videos: The last part shows different videos that are trending right now. Various hashtags and sounds are used here.
