- Enter the command “firefox.exe -p” in the “Run” window and confirm with “OK”.
- The Firefox profile manager opens. Under “Create profile”, you can create a new Firefox profile or delete an existing profile under “Delete profile”.
- To start Firefox with a specific profile, click once with the left mouse button on the profile and then on “Start Firefox”.
- If you want to continue working with a different profile, repeat points 1 to 4, selecting the desired profile in the last step and clicking on “Start Firefox”.
More about Firefox
Your Firefox profile is saved in a specific location under the name “Profile”. This has many advantages.
- All data such as defined start pages, the toolbars, bookmarks or passwords are summarized in the “Profile” folder. The profile folder is stored in a different location than the Firefox program files.
- In concrete terms, this means that the Firefox executable files are saved in a different location to the profile files. This means that you can still access your personal settings even if you have deleted Firefox on your device or if there are technical problems with the browser.
- For example, if you uninstall Firefox on a device, your settings data from your profile will not be lost. If you reinstall Firefox, you can restore your profile settings
