To delete the contacts in Signal, follow the steps below:

• Start the Signal app on your smartphone:

• Now go to “Chats” or “Contacts” to display your contact list.

• Long tap on the contact you want to delete. A submenu opens.

• Click on the “Delete” option here.

• Signal then displays a confirmation prompt. Click on “Delete” here as well.

• The selected contact has now been deleted from your Signal contact list.

Considerations before deleting contacts

Please keep in mind that deleting a contact in Signal will remove all messages, calls and shared data with that contact in Signal. It is a permanent deletion, so think carefully before removing a contact.

• Only delete the contact if you are sure that you will not need it again.

• However, a reduced contact list provides greater clarity and helps you to keep the focus on the important and regular contacts.

• If a contact is no longer active or you are no longer in contact with this person, deleting the contact can be a sensible measure.
