If you want to return your newly purchased TV set, this is only possible to a limited extent. We will show you what options you have when returning the TV.
Returning a TV – this is how it works
There are differences whether you bought the TV online or directly on site.
- Online:If you bought the TV online, you have two to four weeks to return it without giving any reason. You will have to pay a postage fee, depending on the provider. Simply contact the retailer. You are exercising your right of objection here, which you must state in writing.
- When shopping online, be sure to read the terms and conditions of the seller or third-party seller. Large online sellers such as Amazon also guarantee you an uncomplicated 30-day right of return for certain products.
- Store: If you have bought your TV set locally in a shop, you can only hope for the goodwill of the staff. The retailer does not have to take back a perfectly functioning set. However, at large chains such as Saturn or Media Markt, you will usually get your money back or a voucher. But here, too, you should not wait longer than two weeks.
- General rule: If the device shows no signs of use, an exchange is possible. You do not have to return protective films or other packaging materials with the TV set when exchanging it.
