Opera: Translating a page – this is how it works

by Pramith

The Opera browser itself does not offer an option to translate a foreign language page into German or another language. To use the translation function, you need an add-on.

Opera – how to translate a page in the browser

As mentioned in the introduction, the Opera browser does not come with a translation function. To translate pages in the browser, you can simply call up the Google translator and enter the text to be translated in the corresponding field – or you can install an add-on.

  • Start the Opera browser and install the Google Translate add-on for Opera.
  • Restart the browser.
  • Go to the desired foreign language page and click on the extension icon at the top right.
  • Click on the add-on “Google Translate”, a pop-up appears.
  • Copy the text you want to translate into the upper field and select the desired target language for the lower field.
