Delete cookies in the Opera browser: How to do it on a PC and laptop
With just a few clicks, you can manage and delete your cookies in the Opera browser:
- First, open your history. For Linux and Windows, use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [H]. Mac users can access the history by pressing [Cmd] + [Shift] + [H].
- A window will open. Click on the “Delete browsing data” button in the top right corner.
- In the next window, you can now decide which browser data you would like to delete. You can also set the time period in the drop-down menu. Then click on “Delete browsing data”.
- Tip: Go to the settings in your Opera browser and search for the option “Delete cookies and website data when closing Opera”. If you activate this function, cookies will be automatically deleted when you close the browser.
Delete cookies in the Opera app: This is how you do it
It only takes a few clicks to delete unwanted cookies in the Opera app:
- Go to the bottom right of the app and click on the profile icon.
- Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Scroll down and click on the “Privacy & Security” option.
- Now go to “Clear data…” and select the data you want to delete.
- Tip: There is also an easy alternative to manual deletion in the app. To do this, simply activate the “Clear data on exit” function under “Privacy & Security”. You can then select which data you want to delete automatically.
