Netflix saves your played movies and series in a history. Deleting this information can be useful, especially for data protection reasons, if you share your account with others.
Delete your Netflix movie history
You can use the Netflix history view to replay films and series you have already watched. In addition, problems with individual titles can also be reported there. You can hide any of these chronologically arranged entries from the history. The procedure described below works both in the app and on the PC.
To do this, open the app or the Netflix website and log in to your account.
- Click on your account name in the top right corner and click on the “Account” option.
- In the “Profiles and Parental Controls” section, click on the arrow next to the account for which you want to delete the history.
- Scroll down and click on the “View” link next to “Title History “
-
A list of all the films and series episodes you have recently streamed will appear. Click on the symbol with the crossed-out circle next to an entry to hide the corresponding title from your history.
- It is possible to hide the entire title history. Scroll all the way down the page, click on the “Hide All” link. As soon as you confirm the selection, all titles will be hidden.
- Tip: If you switch to the “Rating” tab at the top right, you will see a list of films that you have rated. You can also use the “X” to remove each individual entry.
- If you want to delete your Netflix history, you first have to log in to your account, select your profile and find the “Title history” via the “Account” option. If you now click on the crossed-out circle next to a title, the title will be deleted from your history within 24 hours. Please note that deleting the history is not possible for children’s profiles.
-
Afterwards, the hidden title will no longer be displayed under viewed titles within 24 hours. The “Continue viewing” option is also removed. Suggestions for similar titles will also no longer be made unless you watch the film or series episode again.
