Linking your Steam account: step by step

By linking your Steam account with your phone number, you can benefit from two-factor authentication for your game library.

Link your Steam account with your phone number

To link your Steam account to a phone number, go to the two-factor authentication page. Alternatively, you can use the Manage Phone Number submenu in the Account Settings.

• Enter your phone number in the field provided. It must be a number that can receive SMS. You can also use numbers outside of Germany if you live elsewhere.
• You will then be asked to reconfirm your email for the link for security reasons. Do not click Next yet.
• Go to the appropriate email box. If you have not yet received the email with the confirmation link from Steam, you can have it sent again. Confirm your email address using the link in the message.
• You will see on Steam that you have confirmed your email address. You can now click Next and continue with the link.
• Steam will now send a code to your phone number via SMS. Enter the code in the box and confirm it.
• If the code is correct, the linking of the phone number with your Steam account is complete. Complete the linking by clicking Done.
