Instagram really down – here’s how to check it

If a website is down and therefore no longer provides a response, it is relatively easy to check. However, you should first check that it is not due to your internet connection: Try opening other websites. If you cannot open them either, check your internet and router settings.

• Open the website “Is it down right now?” to check if Instagram is really down.
• If Instagram is down, you will see a red down button at the top or a problem message in the “Status History”.

• If any of these websites indicate that Instagram is down, then unfortunately there is nothing you can do and you will have to wait until the problem is fixed.

Problem with Instagram app

If you can reach Instagram with your computer but not with your Instagram app, check the following:

• If you can open other websites on your smartphone, it’s not because of your internet connection.
• Switch your smartphone off and on again. Alternatively, you can then try reinstalling the Instagram app.
