H&M order – how to cancel

At H&M you can cancel the entire order or just some of the items ordered. However, you should take a few details into account to ensure that the cancellation goes smoothly.

  • Once you have decided to cancel ordered goods, you need to act quickly. As long as the goods are not yet in the delivery process, canceling is easy
  • Log in to your H&M account first. The current processing status of the items is displayed in the orders. If you see the corresponding order in your customer account under the status “Items not yet delivered”, you are in luck. In this case, you can cancel the order quickly and easily
  • Go to the items you no longer want and change the quantity to 0. Important: Finally, confirm the cancellation by clicking on “Apply”. You have now successfully canceled your order with H&M.
  • If the goods have already been dispatched by H&M, you can still cancel your order, but not immediately. You must first wait until you receive the goods. In principle, you have a statutory 14-day right of return for online orders. The H&M online store grants you a 28-day return period.
  • The period runs from the moment the parcel carrier has delivered the parcel to you. If the parcel carrier delivers the delivery directly to you, you have the option of refusing to accept it.

Sending goods back to H&M – how to do it without any problems

Whether you or the online store will cover the costs of returning the goods depends on the goodwill of the company in question. By law, online retailers are only obliged to offer a 14-day right of return. However, online stores do not have to cover the costs of returning the goods.

  • At H&M, so-called Plus Members may return the goods free of charge. If you are “only” a member of the online store or are not a member, you will have to pay €1.99 towards the return costs. If you do not know whether you are a Member or Plus Member, please check your account to see your status:
  • But even as a non-member you can avoid the shipping costs with a little trick: Simply hand in the canceled items in person at an H&M store. However, this does not work for all items. Some goods must be returned to the H&M online store
  • Items that you may not return to a store include H&M HOME items, beauty products, gift cards, pre-loved/second-hand items, returns and items from other brands.
  • In addition, items with the product ID 1205753001, 1205754001 and 1203642001 must be returned directly to the H&M online store. If necessary, please contact H&M customer service in advance, which you can reach at the e-mail address kundenservice.de@hm.com.
  • You do not need to give any reasons for canceling the order. However, it is necessary that the goods are not only undamaged but also unused.
