A green dot on Snapchat provides information about a user’s activity. It indicates whether the person has been online in the last 24 hours
Green dot on Snapchat: What’s behind it
Snapchat has a function that allows you to receive information about the status of your friends. A green dot on the friend’s avatar shows you that this person has been online on Snapchat in the last 24 hours.
- The green dot on a friend’s avatar shows you that they have recently been active on Snapchat. This way, you can immediately see which of your friends are actually using the app
- As practical as the green dot may be for you to find out about your contacts, you should not forget about your own privacy.
- If you don’t want your friends to be able to follow your activities, you can easily deactivate this function on Snapchat. You have control over your privacy settings
- To deactivate the activity display in your own Snapchat profile, tap on the “Settings button” in the profile view to open it.
- Then scroll down to the “Privacy settings” section.
- Select “Activity display” and deactivate this option.
