Find out your channel ID on YouTube: This is how it works

by Pramith

You can use the YouTube channel ID to access your channel or another channel directly. You can find this out quickly

Youtube: Find out your own channel ID

Search for the channel ID of your YouTube channel, switch to the video platform.

  • It doesn’t matter whether you are using the browser version or the app on a mobile device. Then click on your profile picture
  • Then look for the settings, recognizable by the cogwheel symbol. Select these
  • You are now in your YouTube account settings. Then click on the Advanced settings tab.
  • Your channel and user ID will be displayed within this menu. You can add these to your clipboard by clicking on the Copy button.

Find out the channel ID on YouTube: Other channels

If it is not your own YouTube channel, the method described above will not work.

  • The ID of other channels is theoretically the name that is displayed after the [@] sign in the channel description. The ID is not displayed directly
  • This name makes it very easy to find the channel you are looking for. In addition, the ID is usually only required by the owner of the account.
  • Alternatively, you can display the ID via the information in the page source text. To do this, right-click in the browser on the channel page to open a drop-down menu.
  • Within this menu you will find the option to display the page source text. Select this and a window with lots of text will open. Use [CTRL] and [F] to enter the search query https://www.youtube.com/channel/ and press [Enter].
  • Now you will see all results with the channel address. You will then find the channel ID after the slash.
