If messages are not displayed on Facebook, the problem can sometimes have several causes
Facebook messages are not displayed – what you can do
Follow the tips below to get your Facebook chat messages working properly again:
- Make sure your internet connection is stable and active. Weak or interrupted Wi-Fi or mobile data can result in messages not loading
- Outdated cache data or cookies can also cause problems. Delete your browser’s cache and cookies. Also make sure that the browser is up to date.
- If you are using the app, make sure that you are using the latest version of the Facebook app. If necessary, update the app via the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Also make sure that you have not muted or archived the messages. You can check this in the app in the chat settings under “Archived chats”.
- Also check whether your notification settings are configured correctly to ensure that you receive notifications about new messages.
