Facebook: Find out your ID - Practical Tips

Facebook: Find out your ID

by Pramith

It’s often useful to quickly find out your Facebook ID, especially when accessing external tools or plugins.

This is how you find out your Facebook ID

Your Facebook ID is a unique number assigned to each user of the social network. You can view it directly from your profile without any technical knowledge.

  • To do this, open your browser and log in to Facebook.
  • Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner to go to your personal page.
  • In the address bar of your browser, you will see a URL that looks something like “https://www.facebook.com/username”. If the URL does not contain a username but a long string of numbers, this is already your Facebook ID.
  • If you have a personalized URL, you can click on “Edit Profile”. At the bottom of the page, you will see your ID.

Facebook: Find your ID in the source code

If the direct method doesn’t work, the source code of your profile is a reliable way to find out your Facebook ID.

  • Go to your Facebook profile and right-click on the page. Select “View Page Source” or press the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + U”.
  • Open the search function with “Ctrl + F” and enter “profile_id”.
  • In the line that is highlighted, you will find a sequence of numbers that represents your personal Facebook ID.
