Facebook: Delete comment

by Michaela

If you have made a typing error in a Facebook comment or would like to delete it immediately, we will show you how to do this. Even if negative comments disrupt your Facebook timeline, deletion is possible.

Delete comment on Facebook – this is how you do it

You can use Facebook to post pictures and text at any time. Many people wish to collect numerous comments and likes afterwards. However, the comments are not always formulated positively. It is possible to delete the pinned comments of third parties (or even your own).

  • Open the Facebook app or open Facebook on your PC. Tap the negative comment with your finger or move your mouse over it. A small pencil will then appear in the upper right corner.

  • Tap or click on it and select the “Delete” option.

  • Then confirm this by clicking the “Delete” button again.

  • Within this context menu, you can also block the person who left the comment. Do this, for example, if the person has often left negative comments about you.

Facebook: Hide comment

In addition to deleting comments, you have another option. You can also “just” hide the comment on Facebook. It will still be visible to the person who created the comment, but all other readers will no longer be able to see it.

  • To do this, go to the post with the negative comment.

  • Next to the comment, you will see three black dots. Click on them.

  • Then click on “Hide comment”.
