Downloading YouTube Shorts: This is how it’s possible
On YouTube, you can also watch short videos on the platform with YouTube Shorts. If you also want to watch shorts offline, this is only possible with a few workarounds. This is because YouTube itself does not currently offer a direct function for downloading shorts. One way to download YouTube shorts nevertheless is to use third-party tools such as SaveFrom.net.
- You need to insert the link to the short video here. If you are using the YouTube app, go to the short video you want and select “Share” and then “Copy link”. If you have opened the video in your browser, copy the URL in the address bar.
- Paste the copied link into the text field and select “Download”.
- You can then specify the download quality. Confirm by clicking on “Download”.
- The video will be downloaded and you can access it via the files app on your PC or smartphone.
Another way to use YouTube Shorts offline
Alternatively, you can simply record your device’s screen to save YouTube short videos offline.
- To do this, open the video you want in the YouTube app or browser.
- Then start recording the screen. This function is now integrated into all smartphones. On Android, you can find it in the quick settings. On iPhone, you can access the control center to record the screen.
- The video is automatically saved in the gallery or photos app, where you can also watch it offline.
