The mail programme Outlook is not free to purchase. However, there are alternatives, both from Microsoft and from other providers, for which you do not have to pay anything. We will show you how you can use the familiar Outlook functions free of charge.
Get Outlook for free – demo version only
For Outlook 2019, Microsoft charges well over 100 euros (as of 10/2021). While the prices at official providers such as Amazon are quite high, you can also buy cheaper licence keys from less reputable providers. However, these sometimes come from dubious sources. At least Outlook is not available free of charge.
If you would like to try out the latest version of Outlook first, you can find the 30-day demo for Outlook 2019 on our download page.
If you don’t necessarily need Outlook, you can find several free alternatives. These are hardly inferior to the Microsoft version, which costs over 100 euros.))
Thunderbird: popular alternative to Outlook
From the developers of the Mozilla Firefox browser, you can also get the mail programme called Thunderbird.
- If you already know your way around Outlook, switching to Thunderbird will not be difficult. The free mail software is in no way inferior to Outlook in terms of its range of functions and appears very tidy.
- Similar to the Firefox browser, you can also install numerous plug-ins in Thunderbird and thus expand the mail software by many functions if required.
