Deleting trends in search queries: How to do it on your smartphone

Google search is personalized. This means that Google displays personalized suggestions based on your previous search queries. Suggestions from Google Trends, i.e. frequent search terms, are also displayed automatically when you google. You can deactivate this on your smartphone in just a few steps.

  • Open the Google app and tap on your profile picture in the top right-hand corner
  • Tap on “Settings”.
  • Now select “General” and “Settings for automatic completion”.
  • Deactivate the “Automatically complete with trend searches” item.
  • Current Google Trends are no longer displayed during the search.

Disable trends: How to do it on the PC

You can also deactivate the automatic suggestions from Google Trends on your PC. To do this, proceed as follows:

  • Call up Google via google.com
  • Click on “Settings” at the bottom right and select “Search settings”.
  • Select “Other settings” in the menu on the left.
  • On the right-hand side you will find the item “Automatically complete search queries based on trends”. Deactivate this using the slider.
