If the YouTube shorts bother you, they can be deactivated or made invisible in different ways. The easiest way is through the settings of your account.
YouTube Shorts: How to deactivate them
If you are annoyed by YouTube shorts, you have a few options to deactivate them:
- Settings: Log in to your YouTube account. Go to your avatar. Select “Settings ☻ General”. Turn off the shorts here and then restart YouTube.
- Downgrade: If your YouTube app is the latest version, you can deactivate the shorts by downgrading. To do this, go to “Settings ☻ Apps ☻ All apps ☻ YouTube”.
- Then go to the three dots and tap “Uninstall Updates”.
- Not interested: The “Not interested” function prevents shorts from being displayed. To do this, tap on the three dots at the top right of the short video. Go to “Not interested”. You can repeat this with all Short Videos.
- YouTube Vanced: The YouTube Vanced app helps you to remove the shorts. Install the app and go to “Settings ☻ Vanced settings ☻ Display settings ☻Short Shelf”. Turn off the button next to “Short Shelf” so that the shorts are no longer displayed.
