You can use a WhatsApp group link to invite friends and colleagues to a WhatsApp group that has already been created. You can do this via the group itself
How to create a WhatsApp group link
You usually create a WhatsApp group link via the subject of the respective group or the Group info menu. To do this, open the group and click on the “Invite to group with link” option. WhatsApp will now create a link that automatically connects new participants to the group.
- Beforehand, however, you can choose whether you want to send the link via WhatsApp itself or whether you want to copy the link. With the second option, you can also share the link via other networks
- For an invitation via WhatsApp itself, select the necessary contacts after confirming the respective option. Of course, you must have saved these on your smartphone beforehand
- If you share the link in this way, anyone who receives the link from you or another group member can access the group. You should therefore always pay attention to where and with whom you share the link
Managing a WhatsApp group
If a WhatsApp group link is sent to the wrong sources, you can remove it in the Group info menu via “Reset link” and then regenerate it. Groups can also be protected from strangers via the settings.
- Under the account settings, you will find the “Privacy” option in the app. Now select “Groups” and specify whether everyone can join the group or only existing contacts
- It is also possible to exclude certain contacts from a group. To do this, select the “My contacts except …” option under “Group” in the Privacy menu You then specify who is not allowed to join the group
- Whoever has been added to the “My contacts except” list can no longer join the group without a request. It is also no longer possible for blocked contacts on WhatsApp to invite them to a group
