Clear the DNS cache if you are having internet problems and determine that the internet connection is not the problem.
Windows: Clear DNS Cache
When you surf the Internet, Windows creates a directory for it. Windows remembers the websites visited and the associated IPs. This way, you can access the sites more quickly the next time you want to visit them. To cover your tracks, you should clear or delete the DNS cache from time to time.
- Press [Windows key] + [R] at the same time. A command window will then open.
- Enter “cmd” in the corresponding line and click “OK”.
- In the window that opens, type “ipconfig /flushdns”. Confirm your command by pressing the “Enter” key.
- The message “The DNS resolution cache has been cleared.” will then appear in the image as confirmation.
- You were therefore able to clear your DNS cache, for example, on Windows 10 or Windows 11.
